Sticking to the Budget

Comprehensive, Simple, Good. Great iPhone App that syncs over the cloud.

Clean, simple, easy-to-learn. It has all the essentials for basic personal accounting.

This is a very simple and easy to use money management program. The interface is clean uncluttered and not so busy as to be a distraction. Savings has just the right amount of bells and whistles. Any more and it might become a bit too complicated for the average accounting dummy, like me. The only things I can think of that it needs is a way to link transfer payments between accounts, which Ive read is in the works, and a simple tutorial on the basics of managing personal finances, sort of a money management 101 course that would provide some information to the novice about, for example, what accounts are, the difference between liabilities and assets, and so forth.

Bugetenator

This app is great, I wanted a really easy way for my wife and I to stay on the same page for our money flow. Savings is super easy, and fast to import our banking details, download all transactions from online banking, and then to organize them and puts them in charts that are easy to read and organize. SO EASY! Its great, and the updates that come keep making it better. The customer support is great as well, I have had a few questions and the developer responed to my emails really fast and answered my questions.

Great, simple tool for budgeting and expense tracking.

A great simple tool for creating a budget, and tracking your expenses. It is very intuitive and took no time at all to import information from my credit cards and bank accounts. This was exactly what I was looking for to bring my personal accounting into the 21st century (Spreadsheets were starting to make me crazy!).

Should be on every mac

I stumbled upon Savings after a long search for a simple, straight-forward spending tracking app. After 6-months of daily usage, I am confident to testify that this is best money app out there for the average user. The interface is extremely clean and well organized, adding/editing transactions is dead simple and the app itself is comfortingly stable and reliable. While an iOS counterpart, Cloud syncing, and a fresher UI graphics / logo are welcomed, I do believe these are in the works and remain optimistic about the apps future. All in all, Savings offers all the features an average user will ever need in an elegant and easy to use manner the bottom line is, with an app this good, theres simply no excuse not to be money-conscious anymore.

Amazing!

This app has helped me turn around my spending habits! It is so easy to see where your money has gone and where changes in spending habits need to be made! Such an easy program to use!!

Great Application

I would love to have this app on my iPad! Are you considering on doing so?

Settled with this

After trying several personal finance apps, I fnally settled with this one. So simple yet functional and thats exactly what I need. Eagerly waiting for iOS version.

A Great App

Exactly what I was looking for - a simple, clean app to reconcile my bank account. Top marks for the excellent user interface. Although you have to manually download the financial file from your bank, this is very simple and importing and reconciling the data can be manual or automatic, as you wish. I had some problems getting the trial version to work and got an immediate response from the author. Top marks here also.

Like this app a lot!

It is one of the simplest yet comprehensive. It is clean looking, easy to use, and an all-around great personal finance app. Does not have the flashy colours like many other apps, and that’s one of the beauties of this app. It is simple & elegant. In addition, the developer has always been very attentive and quick to respond to questions. With the recent version that allows cloud sync, as well the release of iPhone app, this is an app that I will be using for a long time.

Savings - A great app!

I have used this app for over 12 months and it has yet to let me down. Though it may not have all the bells and whistles of the Quicken lookalikes, it does everything I need, thank you very much Yi Lin.

Good tool

I have been using this app for 4 months, finding it simple and useful, but not mega fantastic. Maybe I havent used it long enough to appreciate. It also is the first one I am using in home budget area. I can say that it works fine to create categories and stock info, sum up the month’s expenses. DO not fear, it is useful

Close to perfect.

Overall this is a great little app. Just missing a few things, you can’t sort by anything other than date, so this make catgorizing you purchases too slow. It should be easy to fix this and add it to the next update. It would also be nice to see a mobile app to connect back to your budget

Useful

Thank you for this nice app. It is very simple and useful. I hace some advices tough. It would be better to see account status without clicking- on the sidebar. And it would be easier to understand if you can put a -/+ button for adding a new transaction so there will be no confusion

Need Full Screen Support

This is a very useful, small, cost-effective app and it is easy to use. With full-screen support, it will be better.

Better than 4 times more expensive Money app!

More user-friendly, easier to use, gives simple answers, not just collecting info. Waiting only for CSV import.

Clean and easy

Very clean interface, entering and editing data is very easy. Import from CSV and QIF works as expected. Charts are simple, but useful.

Not what I wanted.

Does not sync accounts throught the internet. ALL spending tractions and income deposits must be entered manually.

Does (Almost) Exactly What I Need It To

I went around and downloaded trial versions of nearly every financial app currently available in the App Store and sampled them. While some of them offer many more features than Savings, this program did almost everything I needed it to. I was able to quickly and easily set up checking and savings accounts and import data downloaded from my banks websites. I was then able to set up custom categories and groups to classify each transaction into and I went thru and reconciled all of my imported transactions. Once I had finished this, I looked at the charts available. The trends didnt really help me, but I did like that you could set custom parameters for it and adjust what it displayed. The breakdown graphs were really helpful though and I was able to instantly see where my money was going. I then set up a budget, Savings automatically adjusted the amounts for me. I found the amounts a little off, but I could understand that because of the limited data I had imported and I was able to easily change the allocated amounts to exactly what I wanted. As I mentioned, this app did nearly everything I would have liked. The one feature I would still like to see is direct online banking connect so that my transactions are downloaded without me having to import an external file. This is nicely remedied though because I can manually enter transactions and then when I import the bank data it automatically matches the transactions and fills in the missing details. All that said, if you are looking for a dead simple, easy to use financial tool, I would definitely recommend Savings.

So far very happy

I was looking for a simple intuitive budget program to use with my wife. This looks like it is it. Ive been using for a week. Easy to set up, downloads seemlessly from my Bank of America accounts. Developer seems very repsonsive. Cant wait for auto fill to work. Keep up the good work.
