Does (Almost) Exactly What I Need It To
I went around and downloaded trial versions of nearly every financial app currently available in the App Store and sampled them. While some of them offer many more features than Savings, this program did almost everything I needed it to. I was able to quickly and easily set up checking and savings accounts and import data downloaded from my banks websites. I was then able to set up custom categories and groups to classify each transaction into and I went thru and reconciled all of my imported transactions. Once I had finished this, I looked at the charts available. The trends didnt really help me, but I did like that you could set custom parameters for it and adjust what it displayed. The breakdown graphs were really helpful though and I was able to instantly see where my money was going. I then set up a budget, Savings automatically adjusted the amounts for me. I found the amounts a little off, but I could understand that because of the limited data I had imported and I was able to easily change the allocated amounts to exactly what I wanted.
As I mentioned, this app did nearly everything I would have liked. The one feature I would still like to see is direct online banking connect so that my transactions are downloaded without me having to import an external file. This is nicely remedied though because I can manually enter transactions and then when I import the bank data it automatically matches the transactions and fills in the missing details. All that said, if you are looking for a dead simple, easy to use financial tool, I would definitely recommend Savings.
